Jess Kallen (they/them) is a musical artist, multi-instrumentalist, and educator living in Los Angeles. An in-demand instrumentalist for tours and session work, they have played with The Army, The Navy (indie folk group), Alex Lahey, Rosie Tucker, Lily Meola, Temme Scott, and many more.

Jess began playing classical guitar at age five, and later gravitated towards electric guitar and other contemporary styles. They relocated to L.A. in 2014, where they studied Studio/Jazz Guitar and Songwriting at USC’s Thornton School of Music.
​
For over a decade, Jess has cultivated a passion for teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, music theory, songwriting, and more. As a music educator and teaching artist, they have taught at Cazadero Music Camp, Coast Music, Chandler School, and Young Musicians Foundation. Today, they provide private music lessons in the Los Angeles area and out of their home studio.

As a solo artist, Jess has released several singles and two full length LP's: their debut record Exotherm (2023), followed by their sophomore album DON'T BLINK! (2025) are out now via New Professor Music.
